ECO ART EXPERIENCES

For Schools, Communities and Groups

As a teaching eco artist for over 20 years, I have designed visual art experiences that explore our relationship to the natural world. Each residency, workshop, or visit is tailored to the school or organization’s needs and ideas. The project evolves as a collaboration in which teachers, volunteers, and students, feel engaged and empowered to celebrate and take action for the local environment. Experiences range from one workshop to multiple full days, meeting the needs of the group. Individual private experiences based in my studio or at another location are available upon request. Contact me at ecoartteachingstudio@gmail.com for pricing and to discuss planning a tailored experience for individuals or groups.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Most of my work with elementary schools has centered on the idea of bringing children into a closer relationship with the natural world.

These workshops can take many forms, from creating habitat artworks on a school’s nature trail, to group mural works, to repurposed materials sculptures, to stepping stone making, to creating nature journals, and more.

HIGH SCHOOLS

My work with high school students takes the human- nature relationship to the level level, and students work in teams to plan and build nature trails, design alternatives for spaces, create inventions, and develop presentations.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

My work with communities aims to solve a local challenge, to bring community members together, and to improve the quality of life in a community. Each project develops as a conversation and collaboration with decision makers, targeted groups, and community volunteers.

WORKSHOPS

I really enjoy working with small adult groups, bringing meditative, meaningful, and enriching art experiences. These can happen at my studio in North Carolina, at a person’s home, or even online! The art form can range from Nature Mandalas in your garden, to mixed media explorations, to murals, to painting, drawing, collage, and more.
